Fair Trial Initiative

Group

The Fair Trial Initiative was co-founded in 2001 by David Neal, former President of the Z. Smith Reynolds Board of Trustees and George Soros’ son Jonathan Soros. According to the Fair Trial Initiative website, the organization was established to “continually introducing innovative approaches to the defense of death penalty cases.”

Fair Trial Initiative is a founding member of Blueprint NC the organization best known for its 2013 strategy memo directing its members to: “eviscerate, mitigate, litigate, cogitate and agitate” the state’s leadership.

Received sixty seven percent of funding from the government.

The Fair Trial Initiative was dissolved two years ago.
